While navigating intellectual property (IP) restrictions, Kelly provides long-term business process outsourcing (BPO) support to establish and grow a relationship with the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer. Starting small—by providing qualified, high-tech contingent workers—Kelly earned trust to help the client overcome labor challenges for hard-to-fill Class 10 cleanroom facilities and more.
Challenge
A U.S.-based multinational tech corporation needed to ramp up semiconductor manufacturing. However, they were apprehensive about trusting a contingent workforce company to supply high-quality technical manufacturing personnel who could comply with their strict IP restrictions.
Solution
Kelly transitioned 50 temporary workers to a BPO program model. This allowed technicians to continue work in level 1 positions: cleaning tool parts, wafer transportation, and various other workplace organization duties.
Result
With a limited initial footprint of just 50 workers, Kelly provided the client with an example of a high-fuctioning, day-to-day partnership. This allowed the client to confidently rely on a contingent workforce to meet the needs of its world-class, high-tech facility. Today, the relationship has grown to more than 1,400 workers at five sites across the U.S.
